 MUMBAI: Bollywood is in an attempt to recreate the life of Silk Smitha, the erstwhile glamour girl of Southern cinema, into celluloid.

Famous producer Ektha Kapoor will produce this movie titled as 'Dirty Picture'. And the biggest news around the project is that Malayalee actress Vidya Balan, who had already earned a name for herself in Bollywood as a thinking actress, will don the role of Silk Smitha in this movie.

Rajat Arora who has just completed his script-lines for the movie says that the movie will not delve into the actress’s colorful filmy sphere, but rather tell the poignant story of a celebrity star who was let alone to herself without any personal support from other filmy friends, in her lowest phases towards her death. The director of the movie Milan Lutheria who is deeply touched by the powerful scripts expects this to be a good classy work, which will provide certain revelations into the cult figure's personal life.

Silk Smitha who had been the biggest glamour star of the eighties and nineties, acted in around two hundred films in Tamil, Malayalam, Telugu and Kannada and in Hindi before ending her life in her Chennai apartment.
